The Yell Coastguard were tasked in the early morning to report a missing person

THE COAST GUARD was tasked at 1am this morning (Monday) following reports of a missing person in Cullivoe in Yell.

The Mid Yell Coastguard Rescue Team were dispatched to the Garth Wind Farm and located the unharmed man a short time later.

The Coastguard said on social media that after checking he was uninjured, the team made sure he got home safely.

Lerwick’s team and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter were also charged, but were taken off en route.

Meanwhile, the fire service was called to reports of ‘garden furniture’ on fire at a home in Lerwick over the weekend.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: ‘We were alerted at 11.36pm on Saturday June 4 to reports of garden furniture on fire in Pegasus Place, Lerwick, which affected a dwelling .

“Operations control mobilized two aircraft to the scene to extinguish the fire and secure the area. No casualties were reported. »
