A person has been taken to hospital after suffering a ‘medical incident’ on board a fishing boat off Clevedon this afternoon.
HM Coastguard was alerted to the incident in progress to a fishing boat anchored off Clevedon Beach at around 1.30pm today (21 December).
Photos taken from the beach showed a ship in the water anchored off the beach, with paramedics also present ashore.

The disruption was confirmed to be a medical incident, with Coastguard rescue teams from Clevedon and Portishead deploying to assist in the rescue.
The vessel was moved to Clevedon Pier, where the victim involved was brought ashore.
A statement from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed that the victim had been taken care of by the South West Ambulance Service.
A Maritimes and Coastguard spokesperson said: ‘At approximately 1.30pm today (21 December) HM Coastguard was alerted to a medical incident on board an offshore fishing vessel of Clevedon.
‘Coastguard rescue teams from Clevedon and Portishead were dispatched, alongside the South West Ambulance Service, to meet the vessel at Clevedon Pier and transport the victim for treatment.’
