Fire and Coastguards were called to Hartlepool Dock after a boat caught fire at sea.
The crew of the vessel, which was described as a pleasure craft, sounded the alarm around 2.30pm on Thursday after noticing smoke billowing from the engine room.
The boat was brought to the Old Victoria Dock in Hartlepool, where Cleveland firefighters brought the blaze under control.

No one was injured in the incident.
The Humber Coastguard said: “We received a call that a craft was heading towards Hartlepool Dock with two people on board.
“Hartlepool Lifeboat, Hartlepool Coastguard and Cleveland Fire Brigade were all in attendance.”
A Cleveland Fire Department spokesperson added: “We were called at 2:42 p.m. by reports from the Coast Guard of a burning vessel entering Teesport at Old Victoria Dock.
“We sent three fire engines, two from Hartlepool and one from Billingham.”
The fire is out, they added, and all “staff are accounted for”.
