Cochin Shipyard Limited, an Indian government company, has issued a call for applications for admission to the 12-month Maritime Engineering Graduate Training (GME) course starting January 1, 2022.
The course is approved by the Director General of Navigation, Ministry of Ports, Navigation and Waterways, Government of India.
After successfully completing this course and 6 months of on-board training, the GME can take the MEC, class IV exam conducted by DGS GOI, and upon completion of this exam, he / she is qualified to become an officer. responsible for technical surveillance on the merchant vessel. With more experience and exams, they can reach the rank of Chief Engineer of the ship.
Eligibility: the candidate must be a graduate in mechanics / mechanics with other fields / naval architecture / naval architecture with other field / BE in maritime engineering (non DGS, approved by AICTE / UGC) with a minimum of 50% of marks. The candidate must have at least 50% marks in English in class X or class XII.
The age limit is 28 as of 1.1.2022.
