Police and Coast Guard rush to Worthing Pier – recap


Emergency services rushed to an incident on the Worthing waterfront this morning (September 23).

Sussex Police and Coast Guard were spotted at the scene near the pier and observation wheel.

Several police cars were photographed on the main road, with members of the Coast Guard in rescue gear.

Police received a report of an individual walking fully clothed into the sea near the pier at around 9:30 a.m.

A search was conducted but nothing was found.

The call was believed to be good intention and related to a man in the water at low tide digging for bait.
